The internet is heavily trolling Vijay Mallya and taking jibes at him after he took to X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on their win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). As the former owner of RCB, he congratulated the team, but the majority of internet users mocked him and called for his return to India.

He wrote in his X post: “Congratulations to RCB for pulling off a phenomenal win over LSG tonight and setting an IPL record of away wins. Hopefully, strong momentum and return of key players will enable RCB to play bold en route to the IPL Trophy.”

Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets. With this win, RCB stormed into Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025. As his post went viral, many netizens joined in to poke fun at it. One user wrote, “Final dekhne aao India (Come to India to watch the final match).” Another added, “Please come to watch the playoffs in India!!” A third remarked, “Come back to India, man.” A fourth asked, “When are you coming?” Many others posted similar comments.

Mallya, currently residing in London, is the subject of India’s extradition efforts over alleged loan defaults. He is facing cases filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Jitesh Sharma sealed the win for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and the team will now face Punjab Kings in the first Qualifier of IPL 2025 on May 29. Both RCB and PBKS will have two chances to reach the final, while it’s now do-or-die for Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans. MI and GT will need to win the Eliminator, the second Qualifier, and the final to lift the trophy.
