‘Come To Dubai Habibi’ Internet Erupts As UAE Offers ChatGPT Plus Subscription to All Citizens For Free

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is offering its citizens ChatGPT Plus subscription for free.

Several media houses ran this story without substantial source with any official statement from either OpenAI or the UAE government. Sam Altman-company has announced Stargate UAE, to establish its presence in the middle east with a 5-gigawatt UAE-US AI campus in Abu Dhabi. The first of the clusters will go live in 2026 at 200 MW capacity. This partnership will accelerate AI adoption by the UAE across several sectors. The UAE government can definitely provide access to ChatGPT’s premium models for free to its citizens but it doesn’t seem plausible in the foreseeable future.

Reactions poured in on the unverified reports that ran the story stating Reuters as the source. One user jibed, “Jesus Christ, they really do run a country like it’s a company.” Another wrote, “UAE out here treating AI like free WiFi while the rest of us are still rationing our monthly ChatGPT questions like it’s wartime!” Yet another wrote, “If Modi does this to India, OpenAI would achieve 1T market cap lmao.”

One user quipped, “This is what stolen sudanese gold is being used for.” Another commented, “UAE so rich they’re handing out ChatGPT Plus like candy!”

Meanwhile others cheekily commented, “Habibi come to Dubai.”
